About the job:
Based in Mons, Belgium, you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the NATO Infrastructure Services Centre (NISC), which is accountable for planning and executing the full lifecycle management activities (design, transition and operations) for the identified area of responsibility. NISC provides generic, domain independent, technical functionality that enables and facilitates the operation and use of Information Technology resources.
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Solution Engineer who will take on the following roles and responsibilities, amongst others:
Solution architecture
• Leads the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas;
• Leads the preparation of technical plans and ensures that appropriate technical resources are made available;
Requirements definition and management
• Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity;
• Contributes to selecting the requirements approach;
Systems development management
• Plans and drives systems development projects which support the organisation's objectives and plans;
• Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate systems development methods, tools and techniques;
Network design
• Designs specific network components using agreed architectures, design standards, patterns and methodology;
• Translates logical designs into physical designs that meet specified operational parameters for capacity and performance;
Sourcing
• Reviews business cases (requirements, potential benefits and options) and determines appropriate procurement routes;
• Using market knowledge to inform specifications, ensures detailed pre-qualification questionnaires and tender invitations are prepared;
Contract management
• Sources and collects contract performance data (such as pricing and supply chain costs), and monitors performance against key performance indicators;
• Monitors progress against business objectives specified in the business case.

About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
• A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience;
• Enterprise service provisioning of infrastructure & platform systems and standards (IaaS and PaaS);
• Directory, Identity and Access Management consisting of multiple interconnected and federated Active Directory Domains and Forests;
• Enterprise Service Management concepts, methods and tools;
• Experience in engineering, integration and support of ICT components;
Experience in various areas of information system engineering including some of the following:
• Requirements elicitation and management
• Interoperability/internetworking concepts and models
• Automation and orchestration in a DEVOPS environment
• Information systems engineering and related systems development, including testing and integration in an Enterprise environment
• Experience in planning and organizing of CIS resources
• Knowledge of ITIL IT service management mode and applied knowledge of Service Transition
• Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills;
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
